Samsung’s solar-powered netbook is now available for pre-order in North America. The company announced their new solar-powered netbook a few months ago and in May they first came on sale in Africa. Shortly after, Samsung then started selling them to the Russian market.
The Samsung NC215 comes with the Intel Atom N570 CPU, 1GB DDR3 RAM, 250GB HDD, 802.11bg/n wireless, Bluetooth and Windows 7 Starter. The screen is a 10.1” super bright LED with an anti-reflective coating and a resolution of 1024 x 600. UPDATE: The notebook also has a 6-cell battery which can provide around 14 hours of battery life on a full charge and charging for 2 hours via the solar panel will provide around 1 hour battery life.
The NC215 is going to set you back $399 and it’s now available to pre order on Amazon.com however there is no set release date at the moment.
